Cordex-Insights replaces the standard subgrid on your Dynamics 365 and Power Apps forms, then adds charts, dashboards and Cordex AI on top. Every count, total, chart and AI answer covers the complete data set the user can read, not just the rows on screen.
The standard Dynamics 365 subgrid shows a page of rows, and its totals, filters and exports stop where the page does. Underneath, Dataverse returns at most 5,000 rows per query page and 50,000 per aggregate (Microsoft Learn); even a Power Automate flow needs pagination switched on to go past 5,000, up to 100,000 (List rows). Getting a real number means exporting to Excel, building a report somewhere else, or asking someone who has Power BI. The answer is out of date by the time it comes back, and it was never checked against what the user is allowed to see.
Cordex-Insights reads the subgrid's own view FetchXML as the signed-in user and works across every matching row. Row count, sort, filters, find, grouping, totals, charts, dashboards and AI answers all cover the complete data set, on the server, inside your environment. Nobody sees a row their Dataverse security hides.

A grid that counts every row, not just the page
The complete data set
Row count, sort, filters, find, grouping, totals and export cover every row in the subgrid, not just the first 5,000 a standard query returns (Microsoft Learn). Only the rows on screen are read, at most 20,000 are held in memory, and aggregates over 50,000 rows are split by created-on ranges and added.
Find, exact or fuzzy
Exact find matches every word in text, choice labels and related record names, on the server. Switch to fuzzy and typos still find the record: type “rnee” and Rene Valdes comes back. It runs on Dataverse search and returns the best 500 matches.
Filters with real counts
Per-column filters run on the server and list every value with its row count, so you see what is in the data before you pick it.
Grouping and totals
Group by up to three columns, collapse and expand, with counts and subtotals per group. Sum, average, minimum, maximum or count any column, per group and for the whole subgrid.
Columns your way
Sticky headers, drag to reorder, resize, hide and show, sort by several columns and freeze the first column. Compact, Standard or Comfortable density.
Saved and default layouts
Save my layout per subgrid, including totals, rules and the currency choice. Administrators save a default for everyone, and anyone can reset to it. Layouts are validated against the subgrid on every load.
Excel and CSV export
Excel up to 1,048,576 rows per sheet, or CSV, streamed in batches with progress and Cancel. Grouped exports match the grid. Off for everyone until the Exporter role is assigned.
Charts in the grid
A chart wizard suggests a type with a live preview. Charts follow find and filters, and selecting a bar, point or slice filters the grid. KPI tiles carry a 12-month sparkline. Charts and BI.
Built to stay up
Retries Dataverse service protection (429) after Retry-After. Subgrids read up to 100,000 rows through the platform, then stop and say so. The licence is checked before the grid opens.
Totals with rules
Any total can count only the rows that meet your rules, for example Annual Revenue greater than 100,000, matching every rule or any rule. Up to 10 rules per total, and group subtotals follow them.
Totals bar
Up to 10 named totals above the grid, each with its own calculation and rules, for example “Large Brisbane accounts: 42”.
Money totals
Converted to your base currency with each row’s exchange rate, or shown per currency. Amounts in different currencies are never added together.
Dashboards in their own app, on live Dataverse numbers
The Cordex-Insights app adds a Dashboards page built from server aggregates over every matching row. Start from a template, lay tiles out on a 12-column grid, pin up to 12 dashboards as tabs, and publish them to users and teams. Recipients only ever see rows they can read.
- ✓19 chart types: column, bar, stacked, line, area, pie, donut, funnel, waterfall, gauge, heatmap, treemap, sunburst, sankey, radar, scatter, bubble and box plot.
- ✓Maps: up to 1,000,000 points you can click through to the record, heat maps, or regions shaded by a measure: countries, 4,501 states and provinces worldwide matched by name, postal code or ISO 3166-2 code, or your own areas. Find coordinates with Azure Maps.
- ✓Your own map shapes: upload GeoJSON sales territories, postcodes or council areas on the Admin page. Everyone on the plan can map them.
- ✓Relative periods: today, this week, month, year or fiscal year, and the last 7, 30 or 90 days or 12 months.
- ✓Present: full screen per tile, or rotate tile by tile or whole dashboards. Refreshes every 5 to 60 minutes, paused while editing.
- ✓Accessible: generated chart descriptions, a Patterns option for colour-blind users, and system, light or dark themes that honour reduced motion.
Ask your data a question in plain words
Cordex AI answers with real data tools that search tables, describe them, count rows, aggregate and find rows, so the numbers cover every row the user can read. It can also build dashboard tiles from a sentence. Each proposal is checked against the table's columns and reviewed by the user before it is added.
- ✓Your provider, your key. Claude, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI Grok, or a Power Automate flow with a documented JSON contract.
- ✓Keys stay on the server. Requests go through the
mitaa_CordexInsightsAiCustom API. API keys, flow URLs and Azure Maps keys are write-only and never reach a browser. - ✓Data exploration is a switch. It is on by default. When a System Administrator turns it off, the plug-in refuses data tools and answers from table and column descriptions only.
- ✓Knows your organisation. Up to 8,000 characters of context on every request, prefilled with your name and base currency.

Filter, format, edit and organise without leaving the list
Advanced filter
Rules and groups of rules combined with AND and OR, for example City is Brisbane AND (Revenue > 100,000 OR Employees < 50), over every row, alongside column filters and find. Saved with the layout.
Conditional formatting
Colour a column’s cells or the whole row by rules, with 8 theme-aware colours and bold. The first matching rule wins, and rules can be reordered.
Data bars
Bars inside number cells, scaled to the column’s largest value over every row the grid shows. Negative values in red.
Choice colours
Choice and status values shown in the colours set in Dataverse.
Inline editing
Edit cells in the grid. Saved as the signed-in user, so field security, business rules and server plug-ins still apply. Read-only columns stay read-only.
Bulk edit
Update a column on many selected rows at once, with a preview and a per-row result.
Saved views
Many named views per user. Share with teams or everyone, with favourites and a pinned default.
Board
A Kanban board by a choice or status column. Drag a card to change its value.
Record preview
Open the selected record in a side pane beside the grid, without leaving the list.
Your Dataverse security is the ceiling
Every read and every write runs as the signed-in user. Tables are gated on the server by Key-Warden, even for SYSTEM calls, Cordex AI is checked by the Cordex-Insights plug-in on every request, and every feature that could widen access starts off.
Nobody sees hidden rows
The grid reads the subgrid's view FetchXML as the user. Published dashboards show recipients only the rows they can read, and personal views are refused.
Export fails closed
Excel, CSV and picture downloads are off for everyone until the Exporter role is assigned, and stay off if roles cannot be read.
AI keys never reach a browser
No Cordex role has any privilege on the AI settings table. Own keys saved under AI Self-Serve are readable only by their owner and the plug-in.
You know what the AI sees
Cordex AI sends the question, your organisation context, table and column names and tool results to the provider you chose. Data exploration is on by default and can be turned off.
Server-side licence gates
Tables are gated by Key-Warden on the server, each by one feature of the cordex-insights product. Cordex AI is checked by the Cordex-Insights plug-in on every request.
Signed licence grants
Grants are Ed25519-signed and verified against the managed Key-Warden trust anchor. A lock screen shows the exact reason when something is missing.

Five steps to your first full-count grid
Before you start: Dataverse or Dynamics 365 model-driven apps, with Key-Warden Licensing (Base Kit) installed first. It is a free download from Microsoft Marketplace and does not install automatically.
Get Key-Warden Licensing →Import the Cordex-Insights solution
Import it into the environment. It brings the mitaa.CordexInsightsGrid control, the plug-in, the Cordex AI Custom API and the Cordex-Insights app.
Activate your licence
Open Cordex-Insights Admin, select Open Key-Warden Licences and activate cordex-insights with your licence code.
Add the grid to each table
In the classic solution explorer, open the table, then Controls, Add control, Cordex-Insights Grid. Tick Web, then Save and Publish. Until you do this, the grid does not appear.
Assign users
On the Admin page's Assign licences tab, give each person the Cordex-Insights User or Cordex-Insights Administrator role, directly or through a team.
Optional: exports and Cordex AI
Add Exporters on the Export tab. A System Administrator sets up Cordex AI on the Cordex AI tab. The User guide, Administration guide, Cordex AI setup and Dashboard design guide ship inside the app.
