SNOMED CT-AU in Dynamics 365 and Dataverse

You can use SNOMED CT-AU in Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Dataverse without importing a single concept. Cordex-Reference adds SNOMED CT-AU, including the Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT), as a read-only virtual table that reads live from the Cordex Terminology API.

What you get

  • SNOMED CT-AU with AMT as a Dataverse table, around 723,810 concepts with Australian preferred terms and synonyms.
  • Live data. Every view, search and record open reads the current approved release. Nothing is copied into your environment.
  • Normal Dataverse behaviour. Views, forms, Quick Find, Advanced find and lookups from your own tables.
  • The rest of the clinical set in the same solution: LOINC, ICD-11 MMS, ICD-10-CM, the Australian notifiable disease list and the CDC vaccine and NDC code sets.

How it works

Each Cordex table is a Dataverse virtual table. When a user opens a view or a lookup, a data provider plug-in turns the Dataverse query into an OData query, sends it to the Cordex Terminology API over HTTPS and returns the rows. Your licence key decides which tables return data.

Because rows are never stored in Dataverse, there is no import job to run, no storage to pay for and no stale copy to refresh when a new SNOMED CT-AU release comes out.

Set it up in four steps

  1. Buy a Clinical or Enterprise plan of the Cordex Terminology API and copy your licence key.
  2. Import the free Cordex-Reference managed solution into your Dataverse environment.
  3. Open Cordex Reference Administration, add the key on the Licences tab and select Validate all.
  4. Give users the Cordex Reference User security role.

Licences tab: each key is checked with Cordex and shows its plan, expiry and how many datasets it covers.

The Tables tab then shows every clinical table as Licensed, with the licence that covers it.

Use SNOMED CT-AU in your own forms

  • Lookups: add a lookup column from your own table (for example a referral or encounter) to the SNOMED CT-AU table. The Cordex Id of a concept never changes between releases, so lookups stay valid.
  • Quick Find: search from the start of a term, or start with an asterisk to search anywhere in it.
  • Views: build filtered views for your users on the Views tab, or in the standard view editor.
  • History: also store the code and display text on your record if you need a permanent clinical record of what was chosen.
Want a smaller list? Create a variant table with a permanent filter, so a table only ever returns the rows your service needs.
